Hi Angela-

As the school year comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment to share with
you how invaluable Leslie has been to Matthew's development this year. Not
only has she set an unbelievable example of what a great educator is, but
she has managed to create a love for learning in my son. Every day is filled
with experiments and activities and Bible-related lessons. I cannot begin to
imagine how much time Leslie spends on her class preparation each week, but
I have to believe it is considerable. She is creative, patient and loving
when it comes to teaching my child. I know something is going right when I
pick Matthew up at the end of the day and he actually whines that he wants
to stay!

In addition to her skills as a teacher, Leslie is phenomenal at all the
details such as regular emails, tons of Facebook photos and regular
communications that make me absolute sure that Matthew has been in good
hands. I honestly don't know how she does it all in a day's time, but she
does and I appreciate it.

As a director myself, I believe it is important to recognize the efforts and
talents of staff, and to put them on a pedestal when you can. As such,  I
believe Leslie's skills and talents as an educator need to be recognized and
applauded. I will be forever grateful for the path she has set Matthew on,
and for the love of learning she has instilled in him right out of the gate.

Thank you,

Thank you that's a good picture :) I am so glad we decided to keep Carter at Open Arms this year. At the beginning of the year I was

so nervous about how he would be but I feel confident in the decision made to leave  him be. Thank you for being such a good caring teacher.

So glad he is  with you this year and around Ms Christal still this year, you both are  such blessings in our life this year, Thank you :)

Ms. Leslie,

Aidan was practicing last night on his cutting and he was excited! I feel so blessed to have such a nurturing animated teacher for Aidan...

He talks very highly of you :)

Thank you so much for the order form for books. Aidan is happy to get new books. He loves being read to :)

Hello Angela!

My name is Missy, and I'm William's mom.  He's in the toddler room with Ms. Susan!

I wanted to tell you how happy we are with Open Arms!  Ms. Susan, Kaylee (spelling?), and Sonja have been amazing from the very start!

Our concerns are addressed quickly, and they are so flexible with my schedule!  What we love the most is the connection that William has

with them!  Kaylee told William that she loved him when he was leaving with my husband yesterday.  I'm not sure if there are rules on that or

not- but I can tell you that it was all my husband could talk about last night!  We both know that William is getting the best care and being

loved while we are working.  As a parent, my heart is full knowing that these are the people that are caring for our son!  From the bottom of

both of our hearts, Thank You!  Please extend my deep gratitude and appreciation to those mentioned.  I also know that the 2's teacher has

been trying to spend more time with William knowing that he is going to be joining her class soon.  Awesome!  I haven't met her yet, but I'm

anxious to do so!  As soon as my schedule allows, I'll be there!  (Which I will ensure happens before he moves to her class. :))

Thank You,

                        August 2013

Ms. Susan:

I just wanted to say thank you for the weekly emails AND pictures:)   I LOVE to read about what Jai is doing and who her classmates are

by NAME!!  I had her sit down with me and go through each person and tell me their name so I can put names with faces!!  It makes me

feel connected with what she's doing and who she's doing it with:)

Thank you for being such a positive influence on these kids.

                        August 2013

Ms. Susan,

I just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for giving Ben such a wonderful start to his schooling. I knows it's only been two weeks,

but all my concerns about him being ready for this experience have melted away with each excited recap he gives us each day! From showing

us signs he's learned to singing the peanut song, we know he is loving school and your class. So thank you so much!

                        August 2013

Ms. Dianna-

I just wanted to say thank you for making Layla’s transition to Open Arms a smooth one. She really enjoys her time there and says

wonderful things about you all the time. She told us over the weekend how you gave her a hug and she said how she just loves hugs

from Ms. Dianna. I feel like she has really connected with you and will definitely miss you when she moves up. We are so happy to have

her at such a positive place and believe you are the reason she has really started to enjoy going to school.

Thank you again!

My morning Pre-K class is very honored to have a flag displayed in our room sent to our friend, Jackson Bruce by his uncle, Capt. Mike. If you remember,

the children sent Capt. Mike & his squadron a very special care package @ Christmas. The guys loved it and were so appreciative! Anyway, the flag that

we will be displaying in our room was flown on a mission on 12/29/12 over “free Afghanistan” in honor of Jackson & his classmates!!! Included are pictures

of the flag, the certificate & the kids!!! AWESOME!!!

I agree someday I hope the kids are able to understand what it means to hold a flag that was flown over a country we™ve sacrificed so much for to maintain freedom.

Thank you to everyone who helped contribute to the care package. It means so much to the guys and was a great lesson for the kids.

Just an update- the squadron left Afghanistan yesterday and will be back in San Diego with their families on Monday- yeah!!!! They™ve been gone since June so everyone is

very anxious to welcome them home. This was my brother-in-law™s 4th deployment so we are so grateful he is on his way home and was kept safe.

Thanks again to everyone and have a great weekend!

Christal,                                                                                                 Dec. 2012

Hi....with our crazy busy weekend with birthday parties & dance recitals and then my Bubba getting sick...well I am just now reading my emails. That is just precious....they

love you so much, they look forward to each day they get to come to school and that is because of you! We are blessed indeed that they ended up with you. We have had

many conversations about going to kindergarten and the one that sticks with me the most is one that Ella said "why can't Ms. Christal just go to our new school with us....that's

what needs to happen" and she said it like duh why didn't you grown ups think of this, haaaaa love it. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my babies, your love of

what you do really shines through! Next years teacher has some BIG shoes to fill for sure.

Thanks again for all you do....see ya tomorrow..

Ms. Christal,                                                                                          Nov. 2012

I just wanted to thank you for the awesome job that you do! Ross has always been a rather sensitive kiddo who doesn't tend to play as rough as boys that he has interacted

with in the past. I appreciate you listening to me and talking to me about his little hiccup this week with not wanting to come to school. He left school today happy! He adores

you and tonight when we were sharing the best parts of our day at dinner he said that his was preschool!

Thank you so much!

                            Oct. 2012

Awe you are amazing!  Can I be in your class?  Thank you so so much for all you do!

Jimmie,                                                                                               Sept. 2012

I really like your rainbow behavior chart. All the behavior charts I've seen have only had a way to monitor the students' bad behavior not their good behavior. I love that the

students have a way to go above and beyond, and they know what they need to do to get "over the rainbow." Thank you for coming up with an excellent behavior chart!

Again, let me know if there is anything that needs to be addressed at home to make your day run more smoothly.

Hi Shelta,                                                                                      Sept. 2012

Just wanted to share that on Friday evening I was attending a social event and I met a kindergarten teacher from one of the Gardner-Edgerton Elementary Schools.  We were

discussing all of the things that Mothers and Teachers discuss and she heard me mention that our children (The Rietcheck’s) have attended and currently attend Open Arms.

She stated to me that she can always tell when a kindergarten student has attended Open Arms. She continued that Open Arms does a fabulous job.  I have to tell you that it

made me feel good that we selected the Open Arms Program over 8 years ago.  Please know that your staff sure makes a difference and they are being recognized in our

community.  I would appreciate if you could share this note with all of your teachers.  They make such a difference in our children’s lives.
